Candy Turns Into Chaos at HSPD After Arlington Hotel Donation

HOT SPRINGS, AR — What began as a generous Halloween donation reportedly turned into a full-scale candy crisis at the Hot Springs Police Department after staff from the Arlington Hotel donated several bags of candy for the department’s annual Boo with a Badge event.

According to an account, everything was going smoothly until two officers reportedly discovered that there was still candy left after the event. What started as a friendly disagreement over who got the last bag of assorted chocolates quickly escalated into a full-blown tug-of-war, with both officers refusing to surrender their newly acquired sugar supply.

Witnesses reportedly watched in disbelief as Snickers, Twix, KitKats and Reese’s became airborne. “We deal with some pretty serious situations around here,” one officer reportedly said. “But nobody was prepared for what happened when someone reached for the last bag of Reese’s.”

Department officials allegedly attempted to de-escalate the situation by offering both officers candy corn, but the offer was immediately rejected. The Arlington staff have reportedly been thanked for their generous donation, although officials say they may want to reconsider donating individually wrapped candy next year to prevent what has now been unofficially dubbed the “Great HSPD Candy War of 2026.”
